what to wear

Cocktail Attire – somewhere between formal and semi-formal. Basically, dress to impress, but be ready to dance!

Note: The traditional wedding guest outfit for Yucatecan gentlemen is a formal, long-sleeved, white or cream guayabera and (non-black) trousers, slacks, or chinos. The grooms will be suited up for the ceremony but will be changing into guayaberas for the dance party. If you're curious about where to procure one of these bad boys, click here.
Note: Keep in mind that you'll be traversing grass, flagstones, and other uneven terrain at the hacienda, so you may want to rethink super pointy heels and other wobbly footwear. Absolutely no stilts, please.
Transportation

There will be shuttle vans picking up guests at the Hyatt Regency Mérida at 3:30PM, and the drive could take between 45 minutes and an hour.

Return trips will depart from the hacienda and head back to the Hyatt, plus one more stop at Parque de Santa Ana (at the intersection of C. 60 & C. 47) in the heart of El Centro.

The shuttle vans will leave the hacienda at 10:30PM, 11:30PM, 12:30AM, 1:30AM, 2:30AM, and 3:30AM.

If you plan to drive yourselves to/from the hacienda, click here for directions from the Hyatt. If you plan to arrange for private transportation (e.g., Uber, taxi, car service) please make sure you reserve it ahead of time, as there won’t be cars available last-minute near the hacienda to take you back.

Weather

February is the coolest and driest month of the year in Yucatán. Average temperatures range from 30°C (85°F) during the day to 19°C (66°F) at night.

The entire event will be held outdoors, in three different areas of the hacienda, so you’ll want to watch the local weather forecast closer to the day. If you run cold, you may want to bring something to wrap around you as the night progresses.

There’s a plan in place in case of rain, and the hacienda has umbrellas available, but not enough for every wedding guest. You may want to pack a travel umbrella if it looks like rain.

LA TORNABODA

To round out the weekend, out of town guests are invited to join us at the home of Mau’s parents, Guillermina & Manlio, for a festive Yucatecan lunch by the pool and some fond farewells.

Date and Time

Sunday
22 February 2026
2 PM

Location

Avenida La Ceiba 21
Club de Golf La Ceiba
97302 Mérida
Map

What to wear

Casual – come as you would for a family BBQ! If you plan to take a dip in the pool, remember your bathing suit. There will be towels available.

Transportation

Mau’s family home is in a community called La Ceiba, which is about 13km (8mi) north of El Centro. The best way to get there is via Uber. If you drive, there will be parking available.

Directions

When ordering your Uber, use the following address as your destination: Club de Golf La Ceiba.

You will need to announce yourself at the gate as a guest of the Díaz Vales family at Avenida La Ceiba 21. The attendants will be notified of the party, so you shouldn’t have any issues.

You will then drive straight down the main road (Avenida La Ceiba) and the house (#21) will be on the left-hand side. You will need to make a quick u-turn (on the third possible left) to reach it.

If anything arises, please call our wedding planner, Carolina Herrera, for help.
